MEET THE MUSICIANS

KRISTI MOWE

Kristi Mowe is a dynamic vocalist based in the Portland metro area where she performs regularly in both jazz and musical theater settings.  Her recent performance in the 2024 Portland Revels midwinter production, Norse Fire, showcased her versatility and theatrical flair.

Kristi brings to her singing a unique depth shaped by a 25-year career as a professional speech-language pathologist and a lifelong commitment to vocal excellence.  A graduate of both Washington State University (BA in Foreign Languages and Literatures) and Portland State University (MS in Speech and Hearing Sciences), she understands the voice as both a powerful instrument and an intimate reflection of the soul-a belief that guides her performances.

Kristi's musical journey includes singing with the Harvard-Radcliffe Choir, the Crimson Company, the Glory Singers and numerous community choirs.  Fluent in French and deeply attuned to the nuances of language and emotion, she views every song as an opportunity to connect and share with others.

Beyond the stage, Kristi is the proud mother of three and grandmother of four, whose warmth and life experience infuse her performances with authenticity and heart.

FRED INGRAM

Fred Ingram was born in Portland, Oregon, into a musically rich and inspiring family. His grandfather would entertain the kids with spirited vaudeville songs, accompanying himself on tenor banjo. Fred's Dad was a professional musician who played trumpet and vibes in his own trio. The Ingram household echoed with the sounds of Dixieland, Louis Armstrong, and the big bands of Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman, well as music from the 50s and 60s. At any given time there were LPs by Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Milt Jackson, Shelly Manne, Nancy Wilson, Getz/Gilberto, Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery playing on the stereo. Fred's older siblings chipped in with Elvis, the Beatles, Chubby Checker and the Beach Boys and later introduced him to Miles, Coltrane, Cal Tjader, Don Ellis, Gary Burton and Billy Cobham, so he had a lot to draw from.,

Fred’s drumming journey began in fifth grade when his father brought home a beat up old Slingerland drum set and had his drummer, Stan Rhees, give him drum lessons. That moment sparked a lifelong passion for rhythm. From hillbilly to bebop, Fred has built a career on versatility and deep musical knowledge.

Over the years, Fred has performed at major festivals and venues across the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle’s Folklife Festival, Bumbershoot, Portland’s Waterfront Blues Festival, the Aladdin Theater, Alberta Rose Theater, and Edgefield, as well as countless clubs, bars, and private events. His wide-ranging collaborations include work with Portland artists such as Nu Shooz, Sheila & the Boogiemen, Jim Mesi, Steve Bradley, Rick Welter, Lauren Sheehan, Brothers of the Baladi, Jaime Leopold, Jon Koonce, Dover Weinberg, The New Iberians, Tooloose Cajun Band, and The Reverb Brothers.

Fred is currently working with a vibrant lineup of bands and projects, including:
